Founded in 1965 by the late Alfred Isselbacher, and now under the direction of Audrey Isselbacher, former associate curator of prints and illustrated books at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the gallery has consistently focused on late 19th and early 20th Century European and American modern master prints. Past exhibitions have included the complete posters of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Henri Matisse's Jazz, the 50 linocuts of Pablo Picasso, and print retrospectives of Jean Dubuffet and Alexander Calder.

Isselbacher Gallery, in association with their esteemed colleague Timothy Baum, presents an overview of outstanding quality works representing the late 19th Century through all the significant periods of the 20th Century (Toulouse-Lautrec, Cubists and Surrealists, and other modern masters as Picasso, Chagall and Matisse, culminating with certain post-war luminaries). Among the works to be exhibited are a very rare 1919 Dada lithograph by Max Ernst, Wifredo Lam's first color print, Magritte's "Paysage de Baucis," and two very early Miró etchings from his seminal period of the late 1930s.
